Trump lashes out about Harris crowd size, attacks her intelligence at press conference

Trump Lashes Out, Falsely Claims and Attacks Harris in Extensive Press Conference

Former President Donald Trump conducted a lengthy and meandering news conference where he repeated numerous falsehoods and launched attacks on his presidential rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Falsehoods and Election Claims

Trump persisted in making false claims about the 2020 election outcome, falsely alleging that Harris had recently fabricated her Black heritage.

“Well, you’ll have to ask her that question because she’s the one who said it; I didn’t say it,” Trump stated.

He also belittled Harris’ intelligence and attributed her success to her gender.

“I’m not a big fan of his brain, but I think that she’s actually not as smart as he is,” he said, referring to President Biden.

“Well … uh, she’s a woman. She represents certain groups of people,” Trump added.

Attacks on Harris’ Rally Size

Trump became defensive when questioned about the large crowds Harris had attracted at recent rallies.

“Oh, give me a break,” he told a reporter.

He boasted about his own supposedly larger crowd sizes and compared his speech on January 6th to Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington.

Abortion Stance

Trump appeared to shift his stance on abortion pills, suggesting he might direct the FDA to ban mifepristone.

“Absolutely. And those things are pretty, open, and humane,” he said.

However, the Trump campaign later clarified that he supports leaving abortion decisions to the states.

Harris’ “Honeymoon Period”

Trump predicted that Harris’ “honeymoon period” would not last long as the Democratic National Convention approached.

“Oh, it’s going to end. The honeymoon period is going to end,” he said.

He expressed confidence in his lead in battleground states and opted not to conduct a similar campaign tour as Harris and her running mate.
