Souths to Ask Mitchell to Explain White Substance Photo

Circulation of an image of Latrell Mitchell leaning over a table with white substance on it has prompted South Sydney to inquire into its origin.

The NRL has been notified of the photo, which depicts Mitchell, 27, leaning over furniture with a white substance visible. However, there is no suggestion that the substance is an illicit drug.

The NRL confirmed that it had been made aware of the picture but has not yet launched a formal investigation. South Sydney officials are currently trying to determine the authenticity of the photo.

Mitchell is currently recovering from a foot injury that has likely ended his season. The Australian and NSW representative has not played since early July due to a Lisfranc injury sustained during the State of Origin series decider.
