Joe Rogan admits he “hates” one of UFC 300’s most eagerly anticipated fights

Joe Rogan Dives into the UFC 300 Card, Expressing Concerns about Hollow-Gaethje Bout

Joe Rogan, the renowned comedian and commentator, has voiced his apprehensions regarding one of the highly anticipated fights on the UFC 300 card. The event, a landmark occasion for the organization, is set to take place on April 13 and has sparked immense excitement among fans worldwide.

Amidst the 11 announced fights boasting former champions and notable contenders, Rogan has singled out the BMF title clash between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway as a source of concern. In a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” he admitted to disliking the matchup due to his belief that Holloway, a former featherweight champion, may be undersized against Gaethje, who competes in the lightweight division.

“You know what I hate [about the fight]?” Rogan stated. “Max is a great 145-pounder, but Dustin Poirier beat him up at 155lbs. I think those guys are a little bit too big for him.”

Rogan’s reservations extend beyond the immediate outcome of the fight, as he fears it could impact Holloway’s aspirations to reclaim the featherweight title, which is currently held by Alexander Volkanovski. Volkanovski is scheduled to defend his title against Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 next month.

“Also, Max is right there in the hunt for the title,” Rogan pointed out. “[When] Volkanovski gets done with Topuria, Max is a likely next fight. It’s 100 per cent there.”

While Holloway could still qualify for a title shot even if he loses to Gaethje, Rogan contends that a defeat would dampen his momentum.

“Yeah, sort of,” Rogan said when asked if the ‘Blessed’ could still take the fight. “But you sort of lose some of your lustre.”

Rogan’s comments have ignited a flurry of discussions among MMA enthusiasts, with some agreeing with his assessment and others expressing optimism about Holloway’s chances. The debate surrounding the Holloway-Gaethje matchup is expected to intensify as the event draws near.

Meanwhile, the co-main and main events for UFC 300 remain shrouded in mystery. Dana White, the UFC’s chief executive, has teased the upcoming announcements, keeping fans eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the marquee matchups.

“I had an announcement for 300 yesterday,” White said on Thursday morning. “You’ll get the main event when I’m ready to give you the main event. I’ve been squeezing them out one by one. When I’m ready to give you the main event, you’ll get the main event. You’re not ready yet. You can’t handle the main event.”

As the countdown to UFC 300 continues, the speculation and anticipation will undoubtedly reach fever pitch. With a plethora of intriguing matchups already confirmed and more to come, the event promises to be an unforgettable night for fight fans around the globe.
