TNT Sports raid Sky Sports for key pundit as new-look Champions League show prepares for kick-off

TNT Sports Secures Former Sky Sports Pundit for Enhanced UEFA Champions League Coverage

TNT Sports has strengthened its punditry team for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season by acquiring the services of a respected former Sky Sports analyst.

Following its successful acquisition of the broadcast rights for the coveted European competition, TNT Sports is introducing a revamped “Goals Show Xtra” program, providing comprehensive coverage of all the Champions League action.

The high-profile addition to TNT’s team is Karen Carney, a renowned pundit who has previously provided expert commentary for Sky Sports’ Premier League and Women’s Super League (WSL) broadcasts. Carney will join the panel in TNT’s new “Curve” studio, which will showcase goals from all three European competitions (Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League).

Carney, 37, brings a wealth of experience and insight to TNT’s coverage. As a former Arsenal midfielder, she has an intimate understanding of the game and a deep passion for analyzing tactics and performance.

Sharing her excitement, Carney said, “I am thrilled to be joining the TNT Sports team and being involved in the UEFA club competitions. I’m really excited and can’t wait to get watching the games with you all.” She added, “I will keep you posted but watch this space.”

TNT’s impressive lineup of pundits now includes Carney, Owen Hargreaves, Matt Smith, Julien Laurens, James Horncastle, Rafa Honigstein, Laura Woods, Ally McCoist, Reshmin Chowdhury, and Rio Ferdinand. This team of seasoned football experts will provide insightful commentary, analysis, and debates throughout the tournament.

TNT Sports will showcase a total of 529 European matches live and exclusively during the 2024/25 season across the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League tournaments.
