The 2024 Little League World Series is here — and features some of the best young baseball and softball players in the country.
The Little League Baseball World Series (LLBWS) and the Little League Softball World Series (LLSWS) showcase an extended field of 20 and 12 teams, respectively, for the third year in a row.
A new LLSWS champion was crowned on Sunday, as Pitt County Girls Softball Little League out of Winterville, North Carolina, took home this year’s title. The tournament began Aug. 4 in Greenville, North Carolina and had a number of games affected by inclement weather caused by a tropical storm moving up the coast.
Baseball regional tournaments have ended, setting the scene for the LLBWS in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, which started on Aug. 14. The tournament is capped with the United States and International finals on Aug. 24 and the World Series championship game on Aug. 25.
This year’s MLB Little League Classic will feature the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers facing off at historic Bowman Field in Williamsport on Aug. 18, which you can watch on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” broadcast at 7 p.m. ET.
