Open Extended Reactions: 2024 Little League World Series

The 2024 Little League World Series (LLWS) and Little League Softball World Series (LLSWS) are set to showcase some of the best young baseball and softball players in the country. The LLWS will feature an extended field of 20 teams for the third year in a row, while the LLSWS will feature 12 teams.

The LLSWS crowned a new champion on Sunday, as Pitt County Girls Softball Little League out of Winterville, North Carolina, took home the title. The tournament began on August 4th in Greenville, North Carolina and was affected by inclement weather caused by a tropical storm moving up the coast.

Baseball regional tournaments have ended, setting the scene for the LLWS in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, starting on August 14th. The tournament is capped with the United States and International finals on August 24th and the World Series championship game on August 25th.

This year’s MLB Little League Classic will feature the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers facing off at historic Bowman Field in Williamsport on August 18th, which you can watch on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” broadcast at 7 p.m. ET.
