Кірбі: США поки не змінюють політику щодо ударів по території Росії

US Position on Ukraine’s Use of Long-Range Missiles Unchanged

The United States is not expected to announce any changes to its policy on allowing Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike inside Russia on Friday.

White House National Security Spokesperson John Kirby

Kirby advised against anticipating major announcements on the matter following U.S. President Joe Biden’s meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Washington.

“Our position on providing Ukraine with long-range missiles to strike inside Russia has not changed. I would not expect any major announcements on that front coming out of the meeting taking place today,” Kirby said.

No Change in Position

Kirby emphasized that the U.S. position on Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles to target Russian territory remains unchanged.

Russia’s Warnings

Kirby also addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warning that if Ukraine launches Western-made long-range missiles into Russia, it would be considered direct involvement of NATO and European countries in the conflict. However, Kirby noted that Putin’s threats are not new.

“This is not rhetoric that we have not heard from him before,” Kirby stated.

UK’s Response

In response to Putin’s threats, British Prime Minister Starmer asserted that Russia initiated the war in Ukraine and could end it at any time.

The European Union has also declared that Putin’s threats will not alter the EU’s stance on supporting Ukraine.
